The Film Festival 2019!

The Film Festival!

Hey Bloggers, Today I'm going to be talking about the FILM FESTIVAL! In week 6 we got to choose if we wanted to do technology or film festival. I obviously choose film festival because I did it last year and it was sooo fun! This year I was in a group with Brooklyn, Ayva, Hosanna and Angelina the film we made was called The High Vis Heroes. The film is about backtrack leaders saving the day by being there when you need to cross the road safely. The other two films that got chosen to represent our school was The Life Saver and The Unsung Heroes. On Wednesday the 18th of September the people who got chosen to represent our school got to go watch the movies in a cinema. The cinema was in Domino rd. The cinema was called the Capitol Cinema. Everyone from my group came to the cinema to watch the movie! It was so fun hanging out with all of my friends at the cinema! Here are all of the movies that represented our school ↓

Cross Country

Cross Country

Aloha Bloggers, Today I will be talking about Cross Country! Cross Country is a event that our school does each year. This year Cross Country had a range of activities like, Skipping, Football goals, An obstacle course and a run. This year I'm a year 6 so I had a group to look after and do all the activities with. Me, Ayva, Maryam, Noah and Nikhil had the year 5s we did all of the activities with them. For the run we had to go around the big field twice, All of the school ran in year groups. The last year group to run was the year 6s. Everyone watched the year 6s run, it was very nerve racking because the whole school was watching us run! After the run Me and my friend Hosanna went to change because we felt very yucky! But our other friends Angelina and Neeve went down to the hill and got all muddy and had to get washed off by a teacher. The winners of the year 6 boys were... Torian who came first, Noah who came second. The winners of the year 6 girls were... Maryam who came first and Zoe who came second. Me and Brooklyn came at the same time and had a tie! I don't know who won between us but it doesn't matter about who came first, What it does matter about is if you had fun. Here are some awesome photos from the day!

CAMP!!!!

Mt Ruapehu Camp!!!

Hey Bloggers, Today I will be talking about our senior school camp! For our senior school camp we went to Mt Ruapehu, we stayed at The Crossing Backpackers and went on two Johnston's Busses. On Tuesday we had to be at school at 8:30 with all our luggage and morning bag with our much, things to do when bored on the bus, drink bottle and other things. When we all got to school we went to our colour groups. I was in turquoise with Susan and Sam Our parent helpers. The other colour groups were Red, Orange,Yellow, Turquoise ( My group), Blue, Purple and pink. These groups were only for when we were on the Mountain and when we were stopping at different destinations like, ed hailaru walkway and Hamilton gardens. Speaking of Hamilton Gardens, Let me tell you a bit about when we went their.

Our first stop was Hamilton gardens, when we reached Hamilton Gardens we ate morning tea because we were all very hungry! Once we all finished eating we gathered up together and Miss Sands told what we had to do next. The next thing we had to do was a challenge with our colour groups. The challenge was to find all of the special things around the gardens. My group didn't get to finish it but we still tried. After that we returned to were we first started the challenge. My favourite garden was the Indian Char Bagh Garden, it was such a beautiful garden and reminded me so much of my background. Before we left the teachers told us to go to the bathroom just in case you do a little something on the bus! We all hoped back on the nus and drove away to our next destination, The Ed Hilary Walkway in Otorohanga.

Our next stop was the Ed Hilary Walkway, When we arrived there was a whole bunch of boards with different info about the different things in NZ. Like Pavlova, The All Blacks, Hangis and more. We all gathered up again to hear our next challenge. Our next challenge was to answer questions about the different boards there. For example, When was pavlova invented. And if we got questions like that yo had to go to the pavlova board and read it and answer the question. So our team we very smart and spilt up into how many pieces of paper there were. There was three pieces of paper so my team spilt into three groups and answered the questions in our own teams. The tie ended and we didn't get to finish all our questions. But it's ok! After that we had our lunch there. I had subway! it was yum. Then after we all ate our lunch we walked to the playground near the ed Hilary walkway. It was called The Memorial Playground. It was made by Jim Baker who is sadly not with us anymore. He passed away in 2016. Then the bus came down to the playground and picked us up to go to our final stop!! The Crossing Backpackers where we were staying for the next 3 days. But of course before we left we had to go to the bathroom because we don't want to do a little something on the bus!

We're Here! As soon as we get to The Crossing Backpacker I get so cold! I step outside and I get more cold. We go inside and it looks so cool, there's wooden steps and our doors to our rooms look really cool. I go inside my room with all of my roommates. Brooklyn, Cassie, Peytin, Hepi, Jia, Grace and Mercedes. After we all look around we look for our luggage because without our luggage we wouldn't have anything to change into! So we get our luggage and get ready to take a quick shower. I hated the showers there because we only got to take two min showers! At home I take like a ten min shower! Then after we shower we all can go play in the Narnia room ! The Narnia Room had a pool table, a table tennis table and a movie room! The movie room was so cool because you ad to go threw a closet to go in it! Then we all went to the dining room to eat our dinner. After we ate our dinner we played a little bit more and then we had to go to sleep. The lights would be off at 10am. I slept good the first night but I missed my mom a lot!

The Next Day!
The next day me and my roommates couldn't wake up! Because we had to wake up at 6:45 in the morning. There was a list of things to wear on our front door because that day we were going skiing and snowboarding! We were all so excited. Once we got all our clothes on we went to brush our teeth and then have our breakfast. For breakfast we had weet-bix, corn flakes and some other kind of cereal I don't remember but with the cereal we had peaches and pears and also milk. After that we got all of our things ready to go on the bus and go to where the bus had to stop because the bus couldn't go up the mountain. So instead of a bus we took a shuttle to the mountain. I was already so scared to go on the mountain because I have never been there before and I knew that I was going to be very bad at snowboarding! Once we got there everyone was so exited to see the snow! We got off of the shuttle and it was very very cold. But we were wearing thermals to keep us a little warm.

On the mountain I hurt my leg. I twisted it when I got up from to snowboard, my whole leg turned around and it hurt so bad but the next day I tried again and DID IT!! I had so much fun on camp and loved it. Here is a camp slideshow that we had to fill out. And here is a camp reflection of camp.

Here is my camp reflection!
